And
We Will Not
And
we will not ever meet again,
revisiting
hours are now well over
seeing
you were there in double lust
hip swaying, cutlass then thrust
darling
girl, hard-earned lessons
sung this
lifetime’s side of heaven
won’t
cut duplicity, our time’s well gone,
I like not the office or the song.
Take
back your promised future
dreams,
kiss them rotten dead, bury
your
sweet silly head into Life’s apron
and
weep long, for I will none
of dull
catch up conversations,
speak
ill of what already passed on,
beyond
any undiscovered land
forever untouched by either hand.
Walk
by, cast your lost lot into what
you prayed
for, work it, live it long,
burn
cards, toss wanton lover’s gifts
out
with other token trash and drift
far off,
out of my mind’s sight,
catch
prevailing winds, currents strong
drown
deep, don’t strike out for shore
for nothing
lives there anymore.
